Aotearoa close-up

Beauty can be found in the smallest and darkest places. This glow worm uses a chemical reaction in its hind body to emit a blue light to attract prey insects. I found this glow worm, and many others, during a night hike through the New Zealand bush. By using a long expore to capture the glow and using a simple hand torch to fill in the darkness I captured both the animal and its glowing body.
