Beauty can be found in the smallest and darkest places. This glow worm uses a chemical reaction in its hind body to emit a blue light to attract prey insects. I found this glow worm, and many others, during a night hike through the New Zealand bush. By using a long expore to capture the glow and using a simple hand torch to fill in the darkness I captured both the animal and its glowing body. by: jordi Views[623]

The Koru (fern) is New Zealand's national symbol and stands for new life, growth, peace and strength. During a hike through the beautiful Marlborough Sounds I came across this unfurrled fern being beautifully backlit by the sun. For me this photo captures and symbolizes all my adventures in this amazing country.
