July 31

Lisa, Gemma and I caught the bus from Barcelona to Valencia during the day for a change and got to see some of the really beautiful countryside of Spain.

Got sucked into a pub crawl (at least get it out of the way), so again a very late night getting in about 6.30am.

August 1

After a bit of a sleep in - due to the night before hehe - we decided to head down to the beach for a bit of rest, relaxation and sun tanning.  Gemma and also met a local guy the night before and we had organised to meet up and play some beach volleyball.  The beach was packed but really not that nice of a beach, but was ridiculously hot, so wherever there was water i suppose people gather not matter what it looks like - there was rubbish floating in the water! plus no waves at all!!!!!! We met Alessandro and his mates about 6pmish, got our butts whipped in beach volleyball - everyone is VERY serious about it over there! - and left about 9ish.  As we were leaving the boys said they were coming back after a shower to drink at the beach - seeing it was a Sat night - and would we like to come as there would be a few people.  We said yes, what time, with which they replied about 12.30am...we laughed and said ok, really, what time, and they said no, really, that's what time!!!!! So we went back had a shower and about 11pm Gemma and i headed back down to the beach (Lisa was not feeling good).  We were absolutely gobsmacked when we got to the beach...the side walk was packed and more people kept arriving...there was old people playing cards, couples, families with kids running around and more people were turning up with chairs and tables and picnic food, crazy!  We were quite early so we went for a walk and about 100m down the sidewalk and stalls starting appearing...it was a night market that went on for about 800m!!!!!! Spanish really like staying up late! We met the boys and the rest of their friends around 1.15am and sat on the beach and had some drinks and went for another dip, then decided we should head home around 5ish (of course stopping to get some pizza first, and stopping in the Plaza to have a rest and watch people ride around on bikes trying to sell us weed and beers for 1 euro!).

August 2

After a couple of days lazing on the beach, we decided it was probably best to do a least a little bit of sightseeing, so we headed off to see the Holy Grail, the only one recognised by the Vatican.  The church was fairly similar to others, however they say that if a woman is pregnant she should walk around the church - in a special way - nine times for good luck representing the nine months Mary was present.  We went out for dinner and had a fairly nice Italian meal and i was bushed so went to bed while Gemma took Lisa back to the beach to show her the market.
