The Great Overseas Trip

Barcelona: 30 July

SPAIN | Thursday, 30 July 2009 | Views [275]

After the sting of the sun had dimished a bit, we headed down the main street - Las Rambla - to see the market...was quite nice, but was expecting to see a market like Melbs Vic market, but was just a food market...was still really good, had beautiful fresh and exotic fruit, and you could even buy mangoes and kiwis there! most of the apples that you see in spain are from New Zealand!

At about 6pm we made our way out of town to see the Castle that defended Spain out towards the mediterranean sea.  The gardens were beautiful and got a nice pic with the HUGE guns! most exciting thing was taking the funicular up the mountain side...got some really good pics of Barcelona from the air.

Back into town and back to the hostel to start packing for the trip to Valencia the next morning.
