Return to Phnom Penh

Hi! Couldn't write yesterday, internet down all day. Enjoyed day however, next to our hotel is a lovely french villa with an awesome pool. You could swim in it all day for $5 or have a meal and swim for free. Guess which option we took? Food was good, I had a chicken breast with tangy lime sauce and salad, girls had spring rolls and Ian had Amok fish, a local specialty. The gardens were beautiful, private and shady, and we had the place to ourselves. The water in the pool was cool as well, so not like taking a bath! Today we have returned to Phnom Penh , 4 and a 1/2 hours drive, and booked  into a really crappy hotel. They always look better on the net. No water in our rooms, they are currently fixing the pipes. They could have told us before we used the toilet.... So have just treated ourselves a good lunch at the french bakery, and planning our escape to Kampot tomorrow. We have booked into the Mea Culpa, which apparently has a wood fire in the garden and specialises in pizza! How lucky is that! Anyway, cheers for now, and thanks for the messages from home, greatly appreciated.

Lol I can understand getting the munchies for a pizza, the exotic food is wonderful, but once in a while we feel that need to regress to our european cuisene.Recharge the batteries and munch on...Seriously though, your mum n I found the asian way of adding lots of sugar to everything including all bread and pastries that are not intended (in our culture) to be sweet, a bit tiring. That is why diabetese is in epidemic proportions throughout south east asia and the phillipines.
I'm recovering from a trip that I didnt expect yesterday,240 high school students,sheesh.......three 90 minute trips,,environmental studies (supposedly) anyway they were ok kids.Your mum was suffering at the junction inn with her friend Vera, over lunch and orange juice (she tells me) Poor woman I dont know how she is handling her hard life..:))

Stay safe,,, Lottsa Love Mun n Dad xxxxx
