We spent the entire day and another 700 kilometers driving across the Namibian Desert, thankful that we were on pavement. We passed through the capital of Windhoek on our way to the seaside town of Swakopmund on the Atlantic Ocean. After the dry heat of the desert it’s strange to be chilled by the damp ocean air. Now we have crossed the continent from Indian Ocean to Atlantic, although not at the wildest point.
We’re camped at Alte Brucke a block off the ocean with our own private bath and cooking area. Cooking on single burner requires more of the skills of a juggler than those of Julia Child but I’m doing OK. Maybe tomorrow we can replace Tim’s two-burner stove.
