Crac De Cheveliers, Syria

It sounds fancy but it's just some crusader castle in the west.  It dates about one thousand years or so.  T.E. Lawrence apparently said it's the most magnificent castle he's ever seen.  I think my Lonely Planet guide made that up though.  Outside of Europe Lonely Planet is pretty bad.  Mine says that Baghdad is a beautiful place to backpack and Saddam is still President.  Someone should send them a memo.  Good thing I'm educated on world affairs or I might be in Iraq right now wondering why people are mad all the time and throwing grenades at me.  Yeah, so the castle.  Pretty cool, if your into that sort of thing.  I liked it mainly because on the outside there was this vivid green grass that grew up and through the outer walls of the fortifications and made for some good pictures.  I find myself looking at stuff and thinking about the angle and framing of the shot as if I had some proffesional equipment.  I need to do a reality check and realize that my little digital camera is so old and banged up a homeless drunk guy would'nt take it as a gift.  Seriously, it makes funny noises cause there's sand in it from when I decided to do barrel rolls in sand dunes in the Sahara.  Plus, I dropped it off a camel one time.

Keep the good stories and pictures coming Joe. You should probably look into a good used digital slr camera. Life is good here in the USA (united states of awesome) except for the whole economy collapsing. Unemployment in some areas of California is over 9 percent. Have fun and stay safe. I might actually have a job soon so rescuing you from the white slave trade may prove difficult.
