My Scholarship entry - In The Bokeo Jungle

Laos | Saturday, November 15, 2014 | 5 photos

Over the past three years I have covered many thousands of kilometres on planes, buses, cars, motorbikes, scooters, boats and much by foot, all the time trying to capture just one breathtaking photo, or experience something that takes my breath away. Photography brings me great joy, to capture a moment that brings a smile to my face or someone else's is enough.

Photography is a passion I have discovered and pursued later in life. I have a Fitness Industry background, but the more I travel and the more I learn, the bigger my obsession in taking photos becomes. Over the past five years I have learnt mostly from trial and error and also realised that I get great satisfaction capturing humans in a natural state, whether that be when they are working, laughing or going about their normal life. My photography experience may be limited, however I am 100% committed to learn and progress. Eventually I would love to be able to pursue a dream and visually tell a story through my lens.

The Amazon has intrigued me my whole life. Being able to experience it and learn from a professional would blow my mind!

About jodyslens

One of the most exhilarating experiences you can have. The Gibbon Experence in Laos. After a 5 minute demonstration, you find yourself ziplining 500m between valleys and hundreds of metres above ground - with the most basic of breaking systems.. an old bike tire placed on the line which you apply pressure to slow yourself down - pure adrenaline!

This picture is of our guide zipping in to deliver us our morning coffee to our treehouse!
