This beautiful little girl so badly wanted to get her photo taken. She was torn between looking after her little brother who was crying and wanting to pose for the camera. In so many remote villages like this one we came across hiking between ziplines, children are responsible for their younger siblings at such a young age. This little girl wouldn't have been any older than 8 or 9, yet with the responsibilities of an adult.

The treehouse we called home on our second night. 300m above ground, only accessible via zipline and so high it sways in the wind! For one night it was home to six weary travellers and possibly over one hundred gigantic spiders.

You can't explain how you feel to sleep above the highest canopy if the jungle and wake up to mother nature and all it has to offer!

We came across this farmer and his wife on our way back to the village on our final day. They both hike several hours every day to sell drinks to the ten or so travellers who cross this path.

While she was selling the drinks, we watched him gather wood, use his knife to take the bark off and make it smooth, then begin to place it together to fix his gate which had been broken. He worked so effortlessly and quietly, we all sat in silence watching him.
