The majestic and weathered tree canopy that shelters a large part of Jervis Bay's cycle path, these trees have seen extreme winds, violent bush fires and treacherous rains yet stand the test of time remaining ever so tall and proud to provide a cool break for avid cyclists, pedestrians and beach goers alike.

The Cicada is most probably the most iconic and common sight in Australia in the summertime, male Cicadas have loud noisemakers called 'tymbals' on the side of the abdominal base, which lets off a clicking type noise also fondly known 'down under' as the Cicada's Song. They live underground as nymphs for most of their lives before constructing an exit tunnel to the surface to emerge as adults, molting (shedding) their skin leaving behind an exoskeleton (shell) that commonly clings to bark and trees all over Australia.
