I'm on my way to Iguazu on a 17 hour bus with Via Bariloche. Sitting in a cama seat is like business class on a bus.
Leaving Buenos Aires was difficult. I made a wise choice picking Federico's home on AirBnB. Not only was I blown away by his very cute and lovely apartment in colourful La Boca, I got an unexpected upgrade to a beautiful room and was welcomed like a friend. I really felt like it was home and had such a good time there with himself, Raquel, Hamid and Diego the cat. :)
There is a really old school European charm about Buenos Aires. The fact that many Portenos are of Italian descent really resonates in most things. There's a few things I'll remember it for: architecture, antiques, leather, dulce de leche and 30cent pastries, beef, ice cream, wine, shoes. My favourite thing about Buenos Aires is the tango. Thanks to Federico, I was able to attend a milonga or tango gathering in San Telmo. I watched in fascination as people danced tango with their eyes closed to live music from a tango orchestra. With such intuition and intensity surrounding it, there's no wonder why tango is known as the dance of passion.
