It is wonderful to be back in Germany and refresh my vocabulary! After a cool walk in the Botanical Gardens and forests of Gottingen with our friend Cathy, to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary we found a traditional German restaurant very close to our hotel, since thunder and lightning were threatening. Large drops of rain fell as we arrived and then the heavens opened. We ordered casseroles which turned out to be baked dishes topped with melted cheese. Delicious. Even better were the desserts. I ordered warm raspberries, which came in a large sauce boat, thick and luscious, with custard and cream. Richard had a large, rich but light as a feather Tiramisu which is his favourite, and declared it the best ever.
