Now for Monday's musical adventure, which was to meet the teacher who nurtured our first steps in viol playing in 2001 through her excellent tutor book, since the nearest teacher or player of any description was 3 hours drive away in Sydney. We spent two delightful hours with her as she gently coaxed our left then our right hands to modify their behaviour in that eternal quest of viol players for a sweeter legato sound. She also had a viol for sale for Richard as he is thinking of upgrading his LuMi treble viol. I like the new one but Richard is not so sure. He will play and compare another two when we go to the viol school at Benslow next week.
