Next a Sunday afternoon concert at Burgh House, Hampstead. Here we heard 3 young professional musicians, including a recorder player from Bergen, a Baroque violinist from Bremen and a Japanese harpsichordist from London, the first two having flown in specially for the concert. Unfortunately the audience numbered 10, which included us! Nevertheless we heard 4 trio sonatas, including two of our favourites by Handel and Telemann, and a beautifully crafted violin sonata with obligato harpsichord by CPE Bach. Afterwards we took advantage of the beautiful weather, as did many Londoners, and walked across Hampstead Heath, then we continued walking to the Whittington Hospital to see Ed, who is looking better every day. And yes - this hospital was founded by Dick Whittington!
