Smith's Beach, Yallingup
The news is not good ... evidently this part of the
Western Australian coast is due for fierce winds and possible rain over the
next 4 days. Hmmm – time for plan B.
We've booked ourselves into a lovely apartment over
looking the beach with a garden and huge 2 person spa bath. Technically this is
not camping but, hey, we're making it up as we go along :)
On the way to Smith's Beach we stopped for lunch in
the town of Busselton. The main claim to
fame of this lovely little town is that it has the longest wooden wharf in the
southern hemisphere. Unfortunately it is
under repairs from cyclone and fire damage and so we were unable to walk the
1864 meters to the end.
And to top it off, the afternoon was sunny and warm,
so we took to the beach to top up the tan.
