Malaga

We awoke via the alarm at 4.45am for our obscenely early morning flight to Malaga.  Why Malaga? In January this year, during our annual retreat to the Byron Bay environs, we were sitting under the pandanus trees of Kings Beach and struck up a conversation with two Dutch visitors to the country.  They were travelling in Australia and New Zealand for 4 months and their names were Dennis and Paul.  Fast forward six months and we´re staying with the boys in their villa on the outskirts of Torrox on the Costa del Sol (near Malaga).  Dennis and Paul have a lovely home overlooking the Mediterranean Sea with whitewashed walls, a bougainvillea terrace, small pool and a view to die for.  We are being treated like the princesses that we are by these beautiful boys.

Lunch was at a beachside BBQ restaurant where we tried the local delicacies of sardines and more paella.  Of course, in the afternoon we took our siesta as the heat of the day was in the mid thirties.

Tonight was dinner at home at10:30pm and then we crashed after a long day.
