We
started with breakfast on Waikiki beach at the Mona Outrigger then
Ron picked us up for our flight to the mainland. We have been so
lucky to have been treated so well and we intend returning one year
to celebrate Christmas with Ron, Priscilla and Lani.
Again,
being in business class eased out preflight process and we were made
very welcome in the Qantas lounge before the flight. We travelled
code share with American Airlines and it was surprisingly good.
We
arrived in San Fran at 8:30 pm and within 40 minutes we were in the
Castro and delivered to Victor's home. Nic was so excited to be
returning to his old stomping ground. Victor had even placed a welcome home sign in the
window for us. We had dinner together then headed out onto the street
to visit some of Nic's old haunts. A fun night was had by all in this very alive town.
San
Fran
Today
was our tourist information day. Victor took us on his tour of San
Fran and it was a great to see where Victor and Don, and Nic used to
live in this town. Jim requested burgers for lunch and we were a few
blocks away from Bills - a local institution. We had the quintessential American burger lunch.
Fabulous! Dinner was at Forbes Island. This amazing house boat
that was built to resemble an island with 52 foot light house... and
the food was great.
