My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

To photograph and share the world around me is my passion. I have been blessed to visit some incredible places, but it's not enough just to see it: I want to capture it, take it home with me, and share it with everyone I know. The world is just such an incredible place.
Born and raised in the USA, I now live in Iceland (after four years of traveling warm places working as a diving instructor). Iceland is a photographer's paradise, with breathtaking landscapes and natural phenomena such as the Aurora Borealis, as well as one of the best dive sites in the world, and some yet to be explored.
There is nothing I want more than to learn how to hone my craft and show others how awe-inspiring the planet we live on can be and to encourage in others the same passion for exploration that I have.
I would love to win this scholarship because I could really use a mentor to help me take my photography to the next level, and perhaps more importantly, to help guide me through the process of what to do with it once I've shot it. What more could I ask for in a mentor than the best, someone who has my dream job?
