My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have spent the last 4 years doing incredible things, going places I never imagined. My thoughts were always the same—someone has got to see this. This is too good to keep to myself.

Last year brought many changes in my life. Exploring a new part of the world, honing my underwater photography skills, and finally settling down—in Iceland. The nomadic wanderings that have been the hallmark of the last years have come to an end, but I cannot repress the urge to travel, to seek out—and to share. In that sense, I hope that this year will be a new beginning.

I want to learn how to turn my passion into a career. I want to know what I need to learn, find out what I'm missing, and work hard to fill in the gaps. Up until now nearly everything I know about photography I have taught myself or learned from experience. Much of it has been trial and error, hit or miss, some combination of luck and hard work. I know I will continue to learn every time I take my camera out, but I know there is more to learn, things that I may not stumble across on my own. Having the opportunity to learn from a master would be the greatest thing I can imagine, and that is why I would like to win this opportunity.
