    Childen in the mountains taking down the Burmese flag after school, trying to reach it as the burmese people are trying to reach and hope for democraty. by: jeff_bauche Views[358] But burmese people are at the opposite of the Governement who lead them. They are open minded, friendly, funny and smily. Even if they have to work hard, as this volunteer building the road to his hill tribe village instead of the governement. by: jeff_bauche Views[959] Even women and sometimes children have to work and carry heavy rocks to build the road. by: jeff_bauche Views[372] The military junta doesn't help people, so people have do themselve what the governement should do, like building themselve roads to reach further villages all of them are volunteers. The time they spend working on the road is not used to work in the rice paddy fields and tea. by: jeff_bauche Views[324] Burma is led by a military junta known as the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC), renamed the State Law and Order Restoration Council (SLORC). Opposition parties are banned, but exist illegally. As you can see, a building of the National League for Democracy, the major opposition party, was demolished by the military junta after the last elections, held on 27 May 1990. The National League for Democracy won the elections with 60% of the votes but the SLORC refused to acknowledge the results. The dictatorship of the military junta was born. And is still alive..
