Well we are in Koh Samui now and on our last day before we leave. It's nice, but a bit touristy. We have been the full way around the Island, we were told it was 60-70km. It was good because we rode around on scooters. The traffic here is insane they just overtake each other where ever there is enough room to do so. So when we were on the scooters we were trying to keep off the road as much as possible to keep out of their way.
Us being the silly ozzie we are, decided we wanted to go to one of the lookouts. Well, we rode up this concrete path only to find it was rough dirt at the end and we still hadn’t got to the lookout yet. So, you can imagine two tourists trying to rev the crap out of these poor little scooters to try and get up this steep hill with runoff ruts the whole way up.
Candice stayed on but Jamie came off. YAY 10 points to Candice. I was so disappointed I didn't take a photo of his stack, but I was more worried then anything. We couldn't stop laughing at ourselves afterwards.
We went on this tour yesterday that was a huge rip off. We went snorkeling at a few islands and had lunch, all up $70 bucks. So I think we have learnt yet another lesson about these little money schemers.
We met a few people yesterday. A couple from Hawaii and a couple from Germany. The couple from Hawaii were telling us that it is raining heaps up at Chang Mai, which is were we were intending to go next. However we met this ozzie dude today and her has been everywhere and said not to worry about it and just go up and so it. We are going to book our return ticket back off the island to Surat Thani, and book a bus or train to Phuket. We might stay at Phuket for a couple of days till we sort out if we want to go to Chang Mai or not.
We went to the beach/markets on Sunday and spent up big on stuff. Lesson to be learnt; don't buy it unless you really need it. More Candice's lesson then Jamie's!
