The weather began to clear up today, so we got stuck into the gardens. I gave the lawn a haircut with the new push mower. It came up quite nicely, though I think that after a long period of use, the blades may need sharpening and a few fine adjustments could be made to improve the lawn mowing standard.
Marg gave the weeds which have appeared (boosted by the rain), a dose of weed killer and fertilised the plants and lawn.
Brian was able to get into workaday clothes and seek advice from his workplace colleagues, about when to return to work. It appears now, that they have sanctioned a further two weeks, so he won't be returning to work till just before we are due to board the aircraft for the 15 hour flight to Sydney.
At 5.00pm, I picked up a Nissan Altima from The local Avis rental mob and we did a little shopping for the trip to Pennsylvania tomorrow.
It's a 5.00am start tomorrow, which shouuld help us negotiate the streets of the Capital en route to Hershey, without the normal bumper to bumper traffic or the high speeds a visitor is forced to comply with.
Finished off the last of the cheesecake - it was well up to the usual Margaret standard.
