Added a closing device (a type of hasp and staple) to the side gate and drilled a hole into the veneer siding for the sliding bolt. I'll have to protect the hole in the cladding, which seems a trifle flimsy, by screwing on a piece of steel.
We finished off the weeding the front garden area which involved the nasty job of trimming two shrubs at the front, one of which is an evil holly bush. They have very spiky leaves and there's no way of avoiding these spikes, unless you're wearing a bomb technician's protective outfit. They're almost as bad as dealing with lantana.
It was a big day and we didn't down tools till about 4.30pm. Tomorrow we get stuck into the wood floor in the living room.
