When the children went off to work this morning, we left (on foot) to reconnoitre the neighbourhood and get an idea of where the facilities are in this suburb. Quite a while later we were able to return to the house after having walked twice around Washington DC - or so it seemed.
It was a fairly steamy day, so that added to the enjoyment of being on foot in a car mad world. Encountered lots of traffic and few pedestrians stupid enough to join in their game.
We found the major shopping centre after receiving directions from an Indian lady in charge of a mini mart (I kept expecting Homer to walk through the door!). Not much to be had there but it was interesting to know where these facilities are - just in case.
Spent a pleasant evening with Leanne and Brian.
