The second is a prelude to the third. At this time, when I first met these pair of hands, I was inhabiting The Nicholas Building, right in the guts of the city. Her hands told a story of commitment, routine; "Hands of hard work" as she called them. Nikon F - Neopan 400

The first photograph in the series is of a person I first met in this new city. Her name is Cheyenne, and she's one of the most productive, inspiring people I’ve met. With a love of botany and all things living, she exuded a grace which will always be commemorated in this photograph. Nikon F - Neopan 400

The third is the owner of these hands. Her name is Joan, “Like the one on the firing stick”, as she said at our very first encounter. She was the elevator operator of the Nicholas Building for thirty-six years, the last of her kind.
