Ive had been dying to see the Angkor Temples since his parents visited about ten years ago. It took a good part of the first day for it to fully to sink in for him that he'd made it. Here he is taking in the famous temple itself, Angkor Wat.

We got ourselves a 5-day pass to the Temples of Angkor -- its more proper name since only one of the hundreds of temples is actually called Angkor Wat. We decided to spend the first two days exploring on bicycle -- an amazing, albeit VERY SWEATY way to do it! Cambodia is HOT.

The general architecture of Angkor Wat is meant to represent Mt. Meru of Hindu mythology. But even more striking is the interior detail -- from huge bas reliefs representing Hindu myths to the unending array of carved Apsaras (celestial dancers), like the ones here.
