more country noises

The cow have taken over the grounds of an abandoned hotel, slowly moving closer,  but then they are also closer to the river and that noise is drowning them out somewhat.  Who knows maybe they've been invited in to keep the grass short before the guests arrive.  Had  third sounding of the air raid siren.  When someone dials the equivalent of 999 the siren goes off for the fire engine to attend with a doctor on board.  Of course being a rural area none are retained and so need a summons.   love to know whats wrong with a bleeper !  They do have ambulances but anything with any urgency gets carted off by belicopter as the rods are so poor.  Joy of joy to

 in high season it can go off several times a day or night, My first hearing was at 3 am.

Snow fell yesterday night and the tops are all white again, but sun today is helping it creep back again,  but still a bitter wind.  Its a  case of all clothes on then all off in the sunshine, but as my knee is still feeling shaky outings are limited to 30 mins, so no vigourous exercise other than finding a sunny spot out of tne wind in which to pass a pleasant hour or two. 

 

Had a PDP as been here 2 weeks now, resulting in my hours getting cut.... working too fast?  If only they had all been that good!  So I now have a few extra hous to while away a week, need to swap them for an extra day me thinks when buses take an hour to get any where and go at ridiculously early times to fit in schools.

As ever timings never seem quite right-got a text today offering a staying on the most northerly isle of the Shetlands, but despite my moans quite happy to stay hear for anpther mpnth or two anyway.I
