Keeping heading south I spent a few hours at Craig side a very good NT property overnighted in a layby then had a lovey post prandial walk watching the early morning anglers at Derwent Water before heading to Beamish Museum .again well woth a trip but was finished in a few hours. The non power steering has been taking a toll on my left shoulder so didn't want to drive far so headed for the coast again and actually found that at Nose Point Seaham i could overnight. Well no signs saying I couldn't... So to compensate I walked a mile of the East Coast path. I've been remiss at doing my stretching for my knee - not many places to lie flat with one leg vertical in a camper.. so its aching again. But I've headed the whole 10 miles into Durham for another cultural day , before heading west again too windy for me on the coast. In Durham Library at the moment. Just returned after being evacuated for fire alarm . Amazing all the staff just happened to have their fire marshall jackets on in preparation. Must be something about 10:00
Lovely city, and small enough to wander with out stress. With another bridge they wouldn't need the park and ride, which must be a whole mile away! Kept the cutlure up for the afternoon with a visit to the Bowes Museum near Barnard Castle. Their piece de resistance is a silver swan automaton which 'performs 'every day at 2pm. Missed that but seeing a video of it was creepy enough.. For me the art and clothing section was the best but then I'm not into museums very much.
Another day over
