Julie and Craig's sailing trip

Portsmouth to La Rochelle via Cherbourg , Guernsy, Jersey

FRANCE | Sunday, 18 July 2010 | Views [358]

Set off from Portsmouth in the South of England on 18th July and sailed to Cherbourg in France, then Guernsey and Jersey before arriving in La Rochelle on 25th July.  Stayed overnight in each of the ports on the way and spent a day in each of the towns which was great. On board were Pierre and Dave so we had quite a good social time eating and drinking and chatting to people on boats along the way.  Pierre and Dave departed from La Rochelle and Julie and I sayed until the 8th August working on the boat and getting her ready for the long journey ahead.  Enjoyed the town of Rochelle which is a 14th century French town with amazing old buildings typical of the era.  Weather was good with plenty of sunshine and meeting and chatting with plenty of other boaties.
