The potential equivalent to watching paint dry, and something I've been trying to do for at least a little while every afternoon :) Really, almost every day I can see a marked differnce in the bounty of my rice paddy - every day it hangs fuller and heavier with its sacred burden. Misi told a story in her newsletter recently (loosely paraphrased):
While visitting a Javanese village she asked her friend, "When people leave the village for education or work, do they forget about village life in their success?"
"No," her friend answered. "We Javanese learn from the rice. The more blessings we acquire, the lower we bow down."
Beautiful.
