Holy Men of India

My passion for image making stems from my need to be creative, and that need influences every facet of my life.

My first real introduction to photography came in the first year of my Design degree in 2003 where my interest prompted me to take a basic photography class. Unbeknownst to me at the time, this class was to change my life. I soon purchased my first DSLR and began experimenting whenever and wherever possible.

After completing my degree and during a 5 month trip to Europe I discovered another true passion of mine – the love of travel. For me travelling is more than just exploring new places and experiencing new cultures. It allows me to practice what I truly love, and that is making images. With some interesting light and a well thought-out composition I am able to tell a rich story full of emotion in just a single frame. Being able to record a simple moment-in-time that is never to be repeated again is what continues to excite me today and keeps me looking through that lens for more stories to tell.

I’m working hard to turn my 2 passions into the perfect job – a culture, travel & tourism photographer, and this scholarship has the ability to help me realise that dream.
