When I was in L.A. this past January, I had the wonderful opportunity to assist my longtime friend, Donald Simrock, on makeup for a photo shoot for Interview Magazine with rock star Shirley Manson from Garbage. Even after 10 hours of numerous outfit, hair extensions and make-up changes, Shirley was amazingly sweet and completely unpretentious.
For the picture above, I literally had to hold triangle cuts out from a sticky sheet of clear plastic against Shirley's face, while Donald expertly airbrushed the makeup over her eyes to get this mask effect. This was the last look we did after an all day shoot that didn't wrap until well after dark and Shirley was sooooo nice the entire time....
