Still so much to do but I'm slowly getting organised. Being of a mature age (!) and stage in my life, it's not as straightforward as packing up my rucksack and closing the door behind me, before heading for the airport. I think there's a book waiting to be written here - or a guide for the "older gapper" at least ...

I think it's great what you are doing and we are all secretly jealous of your terrific adventure. Always keep positive and just think about the rainy, dark November afternoons you are leaving behind.

Look forward to catching up on your adventures. It'll be almost as good as listening to the Archers...

Hi - well you have arrived safely and are now well ensconced in the running of the orphanage! We are down to very few degrees this week so definitely time for you to enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Missing you already love Suze

Hi,
I am a 51 year old single mom of two sons, 20 and 22. I'm going for a life changing experience as well to volunteer in Elmina, Ghana. I really enjoyed reading your blog.
I'm nervous but very excited. If you have any advice for me, please let me know!
Thanks!
