I am King Nasser unifying the lands, and the the first Pharaoh. I wear
the crowns of both Upper and Lower Egypt in a symbol of unification
used by all Pharaohs in the coming millenia.
I am Djoser, building the first step pyramid at Saqqara. Centuries
later, Imhotep my architect in this undertaking, would be worshiped as
a deity.
I am Cheops, Khufu, The Scorpion King on a crouched ascent into the
sarcophagus room of my Great Pyramid. I lie in deafening silence,
where ancient wonders await.
I am Ramessess II. I return from battle against the Libyan tribes and
Hittites attaining or claiming glorious victory, and erect colossi and
staggering temples in my honour. I adorn the walls battle scenes that
only my vanity will allow.
I am Akenhaten. I am heretic. I worship the sun-disk Aten above all
gods, I outlaw the worship of the beloved Amun-Re. Tutankh-aten
succeeds me at age nine. He restores the temples of Amun-Re, and
becomes Tutankh-amum.
I am Queen Hatchepsut. I foster a reign of peace and prosperity that
will be the foundation of the wealth of the New Kingdom. I journey to
the land of Punt, The Sea Peoples, and return with Frankincense trees
for transplant. I build magnificent temples, colossi and obelisks of
architectural magnificence and the grandeur of my mortuary temple is
subsequently honoured by succeeding Pharoahs as they lay theirs in the
Valley of the Kings.
I am Philae temple, the last bastion of Ancient Egyptian religion/cult
worship, and the last place for Pagan worship in the Mediterranean
world. Justinian finally manages to outlaw my worship of Isis in the
6th century A.D.
I am the gigantic 1200 tonne unfinished obelisk, abandoned after
cracking in the granite quarries at Aswan.
I am a head full of Ancient Egyptian wonders, and completely agog at
the civilizations that claimed the Nile and its waters.
.....and tomorrow, I am Indiana Jones........ Snakes. Why did it
have to be snakes?
