    A lone eagle watches as I step, slowly but surely, closer and closer. Normally wary and hard to get close to, for some reason this eagle stood his ground; perhaps because it sensed no harm. Its grandeur mesmerising and inspiring, the moment lives on – etched, on the river banks of Brackendale. by: hautepower Views[180] As the morning fog lifts, and the darkness is driven away by the sun’s rays, the reason I am here is clear. A bare tree with new life, not in foliage, but in birdlife - a juvenile bald eagle, sitting closely to two adults, stands exposed in front of the hills of Brackendale. by: hautepower Views[234] The winter is cold and dark, with the eerie sense of death in the air. Between the snow and river rocks lie thousands of salmon carcases. It is this special spot that eagles return to every year, in fewer numbers in recent times. Hopefully capturing the beauty of Brackendale will help preserve it. by: hautepower Views[241] The end of a feast, and the reason I am here in Brackendale, a small town in British Columbia. Life sustaining food for bald eagles, this salmon corpse finally is completely exhausted of all life after its long journey. by: hautepower Views[181]
