    Visit to the Longji rice terraces, farmed for many centuries by the Zhuang and Yao minority groups. The beauty of the landscape and of the older people we saw along the way up stands in sharp contrast to the history, when these groups fled to the mountains (chased by Han Chinese who took their farmlands) and by necessity carved out terraces to grow rice. by: hannap Views[339] Longji rice terraces, on the way up. by: hannap Views[331] This restaurant in downtown Guilin where we ate two evenings in a row was amazing, but we kept ordering too much food. This bowl of noodles I ordered could have fed a family! by: hannap Views[343] Climbed one of the peaks downtown Guilin for a panorama of the city.
