Whale of a time in Kaikoura

NEW ZEALAND | Tuesday, 14 October 2008 | Views [423] | Comments [1]

This has to be the best day so far.

We arrived into Kaikoura yesterday, weather was really eery, lots of sea smog and chilly.  Woke up this morning to the best view ever, the mountain range behind us covered in snow - totally missed out on seeing that yesterday but really worth it to see it first thing in the morning.

3 of us booked ourselves on the Whale Watch trip. It was worth the money.  We saw 3 sperm whales and a pod of dusky dolphins. The sperm whales are incredible and we got quite close to them.  I have managed to get some fantastic photos.

Ellie and I started to feel a little sea sick towards the end of the trip (this time we took tablets and wore wrist bands but the motion still got the better of us), but I would do it all again for the chance to see what I have seen today.
