The drizzly weather from Holland seemed to have followed us. We just got back to the hotel looking like two wet dogs. And my shoe~s resembling a colour that by far not resembles white anymore. But hey, that~s adventure man, my dad would say.
Graham had the plan to go and look for a hostel already for the next morning. Wich turned out to be a great idea, as for the weekend all the hostels were booked sollid. Exept for the dorm rooms that is. And I really can~t picture us there. I mean, moving in with your parents is one thing, but sleeping on a dorm, really one bridge to far.
Thank god my husband shared my view on the matter, so we spend 1,5 hours walking true the brazilian rain in search of someting acceptable. The internet cafe saved us as we found the only avelable accomadation for the weekend. Which happend to be a surf hostel on a great surf spot. It needs no furder explanation that Graham was gotted by having to go there tomorow and try out his new board.
My feet are a bit painfull now, but that is no surprise as we went for a run along Ipanema beach unto the Copacobana(which is really the lesser of the two) and then went for a walk to the Botanic Garden. Which was really pretty as you can see on the picks. They had over 8000 different plants and it was nice and quit there. So much more calm then Rio itself. The city that never sleeps. whit all the beeping mopeds and busses, who seem to aim at running me over every time it try to cross the street. They have fenses everywhere here and Guards wearing bullet proof vests. Combine that with a lonley planet wich warns for the high crime rates and you get a husband who looks like he is about to strangle everyone who so much as dares to look at us.
A good time to leave Rio to a more relaxing envirement.
