From my first memory of owning a camera, a summer holiday in my pre-teenage years, I have always loved the art of taking photos. The ability to capture, as close as possible, the vista your eyes are taking in, the split second that changes the world around you, or the emotion others are expressing during the events taking place, that is the magic of photography for me.
Post shoot manipulation of my photographs is not something I have spent much time on, so I try to make sure the exposure I take is as good as it can be. I do not like cropping photos either, unless it is so a photo taken in portrait can fit into a landscape from, or vice versa.
I am constantly learning from other photographers and photographs so being in the company of an accomplished professional photographer while on assignment would hopefully show me a number of new approaches, if not by lesson then at least by osmosis!
I believe that sharing my experiences, not as a tourist but as a documenter, is one way to help everyone see the world and all its beauty and different cultures as one. And that would be my goal if I was given the opportunity.
