My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Lit only by moonlight, the view from Cemoro Lawang on the edge of the Tengger Caldera shows the Sea of Sand (Segara Wedi) covered by fog at 4:30am. Mt Bromo can be seen steaming to the left while the majestic Mt Batok is to the right. The early start is to enable us to get to view the sunrise over the Tengger Caldera, a 45 minute trip in a 4-wheel drive down into the caldera, across the Sea of Sand and up Mt Pananjakan on a different side of the caldera to the usual viewing location.
