Yet their pride was punctured some 100 years ago by the British when they officially gave them a derogatory name that actually meant: those who split their enemies in half. The heritage tribe petitioned Government of India to accept their traditional name: Nyishi, and till that happened, they felt culturally imprisoned and quite miserable.
