Happy New Year to everyone. Hope you saw the new year in with style!
We had a great new years, went to a local bar and hung with to many Russians but thats ok once in a while.
BUT then it just got better, woke up feeling slightly worse for wear on the 1st as you do, and had to go somewhere with a Chinese friend to help with some kayaks. We got told that it was a party for people who had brought kayaks off our friends (they are reps for RTM and were working at the boat show)and they were just going to learn how to use them etc. So when we arrived out at this place, well this resort we were blown away. The beach was beautiful, no one around at all and the sea was clean with nice sand (no glass!!) But first of all it was lunch manily just for us as no one else had arrived. The BBQ was cool... a real one!! None of this coal stuff, it was gas with 4 grills, lid, side hot plate.. the ones we dream of! AND then the meat, oh my gosh, like real meat. T-Bone steak, cuts of lamb and ohh soooo good. Pity though we were feeling a little seedy so couldn't eat as much as we would have liked!
So that was all good, then all afternoon we swam and helped people try kayaks. Some got munched in the surf as they had no idea how to keep the kayaks straight. Some waves were pretty big too! Was a great laugh and luckily the rain stayed away. So after that it was then party time.
We were giving a glass of wine, real wine, not Chinese sweet wine but yummy wine. Was soooo nice. We then moved up to the house. These houses are part of a resort and the houses are selling for 17million RMB. Thats a lot! But they were all amazing thats for sure. So the party at the house was a buffet seafood dinner. Awesome selection of great food. We did feel like it should be a wedding or something. After dinner they then wanted everyone to do a performance, luckily we went first! We got it over and done with... haha and we sung Run rabbit!!! Too funny.
So then the rest of the night was made up of people singing songs, doing crazy kungfu moves or teaching us how to do the cat walk!!! Super funny evening and everyone was very friendly. Many well connected people who spoke english, had traveled the world, and had many business ideas for us with the connections to help. So we got introduced to the right people. So now the world is our oyster, time to take over China!!!
But now back to the real world... nothing to do. Have new staff turning up soon, and then a school group at the end of the month. So till then we just sit back and enjoy the sunshine some more.
