The road leading up to the prison gatehouse. Fremantle Prison is part of the 11 Australian Convict Sites on the World Heritage List.

The prison has been open as a tourist attraction since 1992, one year after it closed as Western Australia's biggest maximum security prison. Bear in mind it is right in the heart of the town, across the street from nice homes and quiet streets, and was 130 years old at the time. It is a wildly popular tourist attraction these days.

Fremantle Oval, home base of the Fremantle Dockers AFL team, who use it as a training ground although they play their home games at the much larger Subiaco Oval near the city.
