Sydney Day 2: Hyde Park Barracks, ANZAC, Pylon, Olympic Park AND Luna Park

This is a neat fountain near the stadium with water arching over you, you can stand beneath it without getting wet. There are a few steps and at the bottom a reservoir and protected marshland.

A map of the Sydney Olympic Park. It was a little deceptive on paper. The ferry dock is at the top-right edge, next to what is now an industrial zone. It was almost 3 km from the ferry to the stadium near the bottom, where the action is. Most people approach though from the bottom section, either by car, train or bus. Eventually there will be a large community of condos and apartments filling out the whole peninsula.

The fountain is in the middle, and behind on the right is the Acer Arena, used for most of the indoor events during the Olympics. Now it is used for concerts and shows and is apparently the 2nd busiest arena in the world, after Madison Square Garden! There was a Rhianna concert on this night. Part of the pre-teen Olympics.
