My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

I’m 22, studying a Commerce and Law degree at the University of Sydney, and on the brink of making some important life decisions. Despite the push towards becoming a lawyer my true passion lies in art, travelling and photography.
During my university break this year I succumbed to my desire for adventure and booked a trip to Kenya and Tanzania to pursue a childhood dream of seeing the African wildlife. Making the solo journey through East Africa as a young woman was a challenging yet phenomenal experience. Within those two weeks I fell in love with the stunning landscapes, warm-hearted people, beautiful animals and rich, vibrant culture which have all changed the way I view the world.
These experiences have borne within me a desire to share the beauty of our planet with the rest of the world. This is how I hope to contribute to the photographic community. My greatest wish would be to visit Kruger National Park to immerse myself and capture the spirit of the place through photography.
To have the opportunity of being mentored by Jason Edwards would be truly inspiring. Having had no formal training, I am a blank canvas with a strong desire to learn. This scholarship would provide a once in a lifetime opportunity that will set me on the path towards fulfilling my dream of becoming a professional travel photographer for National Geographic.
Here is a link to some more photos I took in Africa; http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150391494313136.437925.554283135&type=1, and my blog will provide some insight into who I am and hopefully convince you that I am the right person for the scholarship: http://www.fengstories.blogspot.com/ I doubt that there is anyone else who wants this opportunity as much as I do, nor who will appreciate it as much as I will.
