Day 173: Hike, Sauna and Pastry

Nikki and I started our day with a morning run - I haven't run in about 4 months!!!! We hiked out of town and up to the local ski hill where we caught the chair lift to the lookout over the lake. Sennia and I chatted about witchcraft along the way and she said many people come to the lake for spiritual reasons or healing. Fun facts - it's millions of years old and 20% of the world's water supply comes from here. After the hike Sennia took us to the local pastry house (chicken and cheese, chocolate layered cake, dumplings, strawberry parcels) and then we jumped in the icy cold water, it's a big lake but freezes over and they do the dog sledding on top in the winter, so you can imagine that it doesn't warm up too much. So most of the group went in up to their waist, I dived under and Mike was doing laps hahaha. It was a really funny moment because not only was the water chilly the rocks really hurt your feet, so there's a really funny pic of Paul falling with rocks flying in the air. We fell asleep in the warm sun (Paul even feel asleep sitting up). In the spirit of a mountain region we shared a sauna (90 degrees!) and hit each other with branches, which is a form of relaxation/massage. Had dinner in town and were approached by drunk Russians (surprise!) but they were funny and asked us where we were from and that they like beautiful girls (at which they gave the guys high fives?) and "Am I the hippie of the group?". They called us over to dance with them many times but we declined their offers because we were eating our dinner hahaha. Had a team meetiing about tomorrow's plan of attack.
