Today's theme was ART and boy oh boy did we see some. Happily knocked back the popular Rijksmuseum (Middle Ages, Renaissance...yuck) for Stedelijk instead (Modern and contemporary art and design...now we're talkin). I rekindled my love for De Stijl, Gerrit Rietveld and Piet Mondrian (the only thing was missing was Natalie) and lost track of time...we'd spent 2-3 hours here and we wanted to maximize our ticket time. Headed to Van Gogh Musuem (he was Dutch too!). A vast array of works in a well-arranged display with 4 levels...but way too many people to really enjoy it fully. He was fantastic though...one of the best. Mike loved how his style got more expressive and colourful as his skills grew and I never knew he did a collection of paintings inspired by Japan.
