Day 119: Science

NETHERLANDS | Tuesday, 24 May 2016 | Views [207]

We finally activated our Iamsterdam cards...free public transport and museums-a-plenty for 72 hours. We made today's theme Science, so hit up Micropia. INCREDIBLE. A museum dedicated to Microbiology, where you explore and discover a vast array of microbes up close and personal. It's an amazing world that I never even knew existed...and it's ME - inside and out! We stopped for lunch then headed to NEMO Science Center (which is designed to look like a sinking ship - awesome!). It was similar to Questacon with mostly hands-on exhibits, targeted at kids, but we had so much fun exploring some cool, new things. Cutest thing was LAB, where kids dressed in lab coats conducted the 'Lemon Juice/Baking Soda' experiment and so on (I remember this vividly from back in the day at CSIRO). But the highlight here was the Goldberg Machine (an intricately planned out contraption, much like the one from BTTF1). Then to end our day Mike visited the Pipe Museum while I went to Rembrandt House.
