Hospital CIMA, San Jose

COSTA RICA | Sunday, 1 March 2015 | Views [356] | Comments [2]

Transferred from emergency to hospital room 1026 at 4am on Monday 23.2.2015 to play the waiting game. Discharged on Friday 27.2.2015 with nothing but a heavy hospital bill.

Positives we can take from this: I practiced my Spanish....the people here in Costa Rica have been so warm, friendly, patient and supportive. We will NEVER forget their kindness. Starting with Sharr - for having us at her bnb, assisting with doctors, and packing all our stuff and sending it via shuttle from Playa Grande to the hospital in San Jose. Thanks to the guy who called the ambulance, Dr Rivera ("rup-tu-ad"), CIMA hospital staff (Martin, Viviana, Daniel....the food guy)...not Dr Joseph, Harrison and the other ambos (they drove us something like 8 hours!). Eddy who delivered our bags to our hospital room, lugging 6 bags by himself and driving 5 hours to do so.

We will return soon....AFTER WE HAVE READ THE FINE PRINT ON A MORE TRUSTWORTHY TRAVEL INSURANCE POLICY.

I'm so sorry for the accident. I hope the hospital stay didn't put you off of other future plans. I have loved reading through and living through your travels thus far. Think about you guys often.
