My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My passion for photography started when I visited China and went to places, close to the Tibetan plateau, where people had never seen a blond woman (me) and an hairy man (my brother). I instantly realized that having the chance to show others these remote areas of the world and give voice to unknown communities was something I was longing to since many years. After that enlightening journey my job and chances of life gave me the privilege to travel in the Sahara with touareg tribes, have meals with Korowai people in Irian Jaya, chase the few animals still populating the Angolan savannah. And lots more. The camera was always my inseparable companion to achieve my main goal: document, capture traces, learn from local people and share with them our differences and similarities. I learned that photography is a great tool to create bridges between cultures and to break down borders. You will have to choose me because of my unique talent to get familiar with the places I visit and their people, having no fear to unlock doors or to smilingly accept a meal made of fried ants. All I need now is to improve my photographic skills, and this scholarship seems to be the right chance!
